Blue-and-White Night

The Xavier community showed its true colors for the Feb. 4 men's basketball game versus Temple. Fans in alternating sections dressed in blue or white shirts for the contest, which was broadcast on ESPN. Representatives of EA Sports were also on hand to see the Cintas Center, which is one of 15 finalists in the company's national "Toughest Places to Play" competition. February's Xavier Faces are Mary Pranger, manager for data and reporting for development and internal operations in the Division of University Relations, and Jeff Girton, a hall director for Residence Life. And of course, we have our regular features as well. We invite you to send us your thoughts or suggestions.

Employee Recognition

Inside Xavier is pleased to spotlight the University's new monthly Employee Recognition Program, which publicly recognizes individuals who consistently reflect our Jesuit mission in terms of being men and women for others, consistently go the extra mile in their efforts and consistently put Xavier's interests ahead of their own. This honor is part of a larger initiative of the President's Administrative Council to better inform, connect and recognize faculty, staff and administrators throughout the institution. Honorees are selected by the President's Cabinet. If you would like to nominate someone for employee recognition, fill out our nomination form.

Marty Whitacre Marty Whitacre, Director for Printing Services, Office of Marketing and Printing Services
Marty consistently goes the extra mile to ensure customers are satisfied with the final project. Throughout the process, his care and attention to detail remain consistently high, and he treats colleagues and customers alike with the utmost respect and professionalism. Whether working late, pitching in on a big job, coming in on weekends or personally delivering a job, Marty clearly lives the criteria for this award.

Nancy Mazza Nancy Mazza, Administrative Assistant, Williams College of Business
Nancy?s efforts on behalf of, and contributions to, the Williams College of Business clearly meet the criteria for this honor. With her can-do attitude, Nancy always figures out ways to get things done rather than looking for reasons not to do things. She is consistently friendly and helpful, and is recognized as a great ambassador for Xavier University and the Williams College of Business.

Stafford Johnson Stafford Johnson, Professor of Finance, Williams College of Business
Stafford is a talented member of the faculty who continually supports our students through his good effort in the classroom. He has supported Xavier through other activities, such as the University committee that developed Xavier?s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
