Information Systems DepartmentContact InformationDr. Elaine Crable, Chair Department OverviewXavier’s program in information systems is committed to preparing students for success in professional careers that emphasize the application of information technology to business in the global community of the 21st century. In order to graduate with an information systems major, a student must complete 18 hours of specified information systems courses, three hours of information systems electives, the university core curriculum, the business core curriculum, and general electives. The required courses in the major are: introduction to structured programming, data modeling and management, programming for modern business applications, systems analysis and design, and systems development project. The elective course is chosen from courses such as: e-business, data communications and networking, and contemporary issues in information systems. Upon successful completion of the undergraduate program, students receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) degree in information systems. |
