If you pass all checks listed below, you should be able to use the main features of Blackboard.
Some courses contain multimedia content and may require various plugins. Links to some of the most popular plugins can be found below.

Check
Fail If this check fails, you will need to enable JavaScript in your browser settings.
 
Cookies
Check
Fail If this check fails, you will need to enable Cookies in your browser settings.
 
Popup
Window
Check
Fail If this check fails, you will need to allow Popup Windows in your browser settings.
 
Port 80
Check
Fail This check works by trying to download an image through the specified port.  Port 80 is the standard web (http) port.
 
Java
Check
No Java Support.
If you see nothing to the left (or just a gray box) then Java functionality is not available.

The version of Java that Blackboard currently supports is 1.6.0_x.  Older versions may work, but if you're experiencing problems with Blackboard, you may try updating your Java Plug-in.
 
Mixed
Content
Check
This is required for use of the Wimba classroom tool. For instructions on how to allow Mixed Content, please refer to Allowing Mixed Content.
