graduate program: Human Resource Development

HRD Career Resources

It is becoming more common to do job searches on the Web, especially if you are looking for jobs outside of the Greater Cincinnati Area. Not only can you access the job banks that list jobs and/or enable you to post your resume, you can do extensive research on a company before you apply or are interviewed.

The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce at www.gccc.com can help you in this area as well. You might want to start out with the article "Using the Internet for Your Job Search" by Margaret Riley.

There are also books on using the Web for your job search, such as: Crispin, G., & Mehler, M. (2003). CareerXRoads: 2003. Kendall Park, NJ: MMC Group. Like everything else, the types of resources, protocol, advantages/disadvantages are changing daily.

Be sure to re-visit this page to review updates or additions to sites that you might find useful. Also, if you find sites that are particularly helpful, e-mail me at gardner@xavier.edu. We will be updating the pages often and want to put your practitioner experience to good use.

Good luck in your career development efforts!

Director, Executive HRD Program
