Audio Visual Technician 

Xavier University invites applications for an Audio Visual Technician.  This position is part of a team that is responsible for the design and operation of the campus audio visual and multimedia equipment. This position will provide tier I/II support over Audio Visual technologies in classrooms, conference rooms and other areas on campus. Assists in design/build, and technical troubleshooting for audio visual activities. Monitors and maintains audio visual systems across the entire campus.
 
The Audio Visual Technician reports to the Assistant Director for User Support, a key department within the division of Information Technologies.  Support for information technology at Xavier University is integrated across academic and administrative areas, primarily centralized in nature, and driven by a commitment to excellence.  An important focus involves the expanded use of technology in teaching and learning.  The work environment includes a team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals, and is highly dynamic and service oriented.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: troubleshooting of mobile and stationary technology as well as assisting users with challenges revealed with the use of their media/tools in conjunction with Xavier's tools;  delivery, setup, and retrieval of instructional technology throughout campus; assists with design/build for new audio visual technology implementations and equipment refreshes; and provides ad-hoc and organized instruction on the efficient use of instructional technology tools to Xavier community.
 
Qualifications:  1 - 3 years of technical experience in audio visual field; proven analytical and problem solving skills to function in situations that are varied and/or non-routine; strong capacity for detail with the ability to document work; ability to communicate well with professionals in a demand based, service-oriented environment; must have a willingness to offer solid assistance to end users in problem identification and needs assessment; working knowledge of audio visual systems and how they are designed; solid interpersonal skills; must be committed to the values represented by the Jesuit, Ignatian principles and tradition of the University.
 
Preferred Qualifications: higher education experience; programming and integration of Creston control systems.
