2009 Historical Theology

Xavier University, Department of Theology, invites applications for a tenure-track position in historical theology at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2010. Primary competency would allow the candidate to teach an undergraduate version and graduate version of a course that critically explores Church history and theology from the Reformation to the contemporary period, including some attention to the colonial and postcolonial eras. Candidates also should have the ability and desire to teach an introductory theology course and other courses in historical theology. Appreciation for ecumenical, global, and multicultural perspectives is desirable. Ph. D. (or equivalent) or imminent receipt of doctoral degree required. Some teaching experience is preferred.
