The Department of Political Science and Sociology at Xavier University, a Catholic university in the Jesuit tradition with a strong emphasis on quality teaching and liberal education, invites applications for a tenure track appointment beginning Fall 2010. Applicant should be a China specialist who is able to teach and do research in this area, as well as teach the survey course in Comparative Politics and upper level undergraduate courses with a focus on East Asia. Candidates with reading proficiency in Chinese will be preferred. A typical teaching load is three courses per semester. Applicants who have a Ph.D. by fall 2010 will be preferred.
