Conducting a job search as an internal applicant requires a different approach than external applicants. This session will educate participants on the best way to carry out an internal job search with specific suggestions on how to prepare for future positions at Xavier. Participants will also have the opportunity for review of their current resumes, one-on-one, with a Career Services Center or Professional Development Center staff member.
Strengths (Leadership / Mission Alignment)
- Presenters: Member of Xavier’s Strengths Coaching Team
- Tuesday, June 14, 1:00pm to 4:30pm
For more than a year, a cross functional team has been laying the foundation towards building a Strength’s Based Campus @ XU. This initiative supports the Gifts of our Ignatian Heritage by recognizing the Divine value in each person (Mission), helping each person reach their fullest potential (Reflection), providing a reflective way of thinking, feeling and behaving (Discernment), striving to better serve by knowing what each person does best (Solidarity and Kinship), and offering opportunity to serve where individual talents are needed (Service Rooted in Justice and Love).
Participants will be required to complete a StrengthsFinder assessment through the Gallup Organization. Armed with their top five Strengths, participants will engage in an interactive half-day exploration of their own Strengths and the Strengths of others, consider ways Strengths can build the most effective team, and focus on Strengths for personal and professional growth.
