Medical Plan Renewal

Plan Design Changes

  • 2 plans will be offered; a $300 Deductible Plan and the current High Deductible Health Plan
  • Spousal Surcharge
    • Effective January 1, 2014, if you wish to cover a working spouse who has medical benefits available to them through their employer, you will be subject to a monthly surcharge of $50 per month

Benefit Enhancements

  • One mammogram and one colonoscopy per year paid at 100% preventative coverage regardless of diagnosis
  • Vision screening with refraction paid at 100% preventative coverage
  • Prescription smoking cessation drugs now covered by plan

 HSA Employee Contribution Limits

  • Single: $3,300 (increase of $50)
  • Family: $6,550 (increase of $100)
  • Catch up contributions for employees 55+:$1,000

Voluntary Dental Care Plus Plan

  • 1% increase in premiums
  • Matching medical plan dependency to age 26 without requiring full-time student status

Voluntary Humana Vision Plan

  • No cost increase in vision
  • Matching medical plan dependency to age 26 without requiring full-time student status

Voluntary Critical Illness/Cancer Benefits (NO CHANGE)

  • Receive benefits in addition to your medical benefits
  • Coverage offers security and assist employees with a variety of expenses should they, or a covered family member, be affected by one of the covered conditions so they can focus on getting better and not on medical expenses. It also provides a health screening benefit of $150 a year per covered employee and spouse 

Voluntary Accident Benefits (NO CHANGE)

  • Coverage helps offset the medical expenses incurred when a covered member does have an accident. It can also cover doctor office visits; sometimes for any cause
