The Xavier Family-Faculty
Xavier University is an intellectual community of teachers and scholars dedicated for forming students intellectually, morally and spiritually with rigor and compassion toward lives of solidarity, service and success.
As you begin to familiarize yourself with the University and get to know some of the people who work here, you'll quickly discover the term 'The Xavier Family.' It's a common expression, and for good reason. At Xavier, we truly see everyone who works here as a valued family member.
You'll soon receive an invitation to attend a faculty-only benefits orientation session. Courtesy of a timely response is requested.
The meetings are casual, yet attendance is imperative. Key details regarding plan options, eligibility and online enrollment will be discussed.

Form I-9 and payroll designation
Employers are required by law to ensure compliance with Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification), which entails physically examining each original identification document(s). You may complete Section 1-Employee Information and Attestation in advance. Leave Section 2-Employer or Authorized Representative Review and Verification blank.
An OHR representative must physically examine and certify each original identification document. For this purpose, all new faculty must present unexpired acceptable documents on the day of their benefits orientation.
Employees must elect one of two payroll options: Direct deposit or bank card. Present a voided check (or record of bank account/routing numbers) to orientation if you're planning to elect direct deposit.
Xavier University's OHR commonly receives inquiries from incoming faculty who intend to purchase a new home before the fall term commences. OHR gladly responds to requests to provide general letters of job verification for mortgage application purposes. However, we cannot modify the offer letter nor any language associated with the Provost-extended contract. (This includes conditions of employment--e.g., receipt of official transcripts--which are viewed by some underwriters as loan approval "contingencies.")
