Assistant Professor, History of Philosophy

Assistant Professor, tenure track, starting August 2010. AOS: History of Philosophy. AOC: Applied Ethics. We do not currently have needs in ancient, early modern, or 20th century continental philosophy. Ph.D. required by start of position. 3 undergraduate courses/semester, usually 2 sections of a core course (either Ethics as an Introduction to Philosophy, including some study of the Republic, or Theory of Knowledge, including study of the Discourse on Method) + 1 upper-division elective. Summer teaching usually available. Research is expected and supported. Salary competitive.
