There are many ways to support the honors programs at Xavier, including:

Annual Fund Gifts
Endowed Chairs/Professorships
Scholarships

Annual Fund Gifts
Contributors to the annual fund have a direct impact on the everyday lives of students at Xavier. Annual fund gifts, which range from $25 to more than $1,000 a year, are used to meet the University's pressing needs—among them, providing scholarship assistance. Your generosity through an annual fund gift enables our honors students to receive a learning experience of the highest caliber. Endowed Chairs/Professorships
Xavier's faculty has earned the University a powerful reputation for academic excellence. This reputation stems in part to the establishment of endowed chairs. Xavier seeks to establish endowed chairs and professorships in the honors programs. These endowments will enable the University to build upon and strengthen two well-regarded honors programs, University Scholars and the Honors Bachelor of Arts, and to help launch Philosophy, Politics and the Public, Xavier’s newest honors program, and the first of its kind in academia.

Endowing a chair (with a $2 million or more gift) or professorship (with a $1 million gift) is an extremely significant way to collaborate in Xavier's mission to educate our students' minds and engage their spirits. Among the most enduring legacies a benefactor can give a university, an endowed professorship or chair is a vehicle through which a friend of the University shapes, in perpetuity, a program essential to the heart and character of Xavier.

For more information on how you can support Xavier University with an endowed professorship or chair, please contact Jim Jackson, director for development, at jacksonj@xu.edu or 513 745-3324.

Scholarships
Endowing student scholarships helps ensure that the talented men and women who attend Xavier will not be forced to withdraw for financial reasons. Endowed partial scholarships can be established as modestly as $25,000.

In a variety of other ways, scholarship endowments can help Xavier put its money where its mission is. For example, Xavier seeks to:

Endow all 20 Service Fellowships at a cost of $600,000 per scholarship.
Xavier currently confers five Service Fellowships per year in a flagship program praised in the national media. Service fellows are academically gifted men and women who have exemplary records of service in their communities. They receive full four-year scholarships (tuition, room and board) in exchange for performing 10 hours of community service each week throughout their college careers.
