What Happens When I Violate Xavier's Alcohol/Drug Policy?

First Offense 

1. Students will participate in a 90-minute educational group (i.e., CHOICES or similar program).
2. There is a $25 registration fee for all mandated students.
3. There are additional fees and consequences for failure to complete the program.

Second Offense

1. Students will participate in 2 individual therapy sessions (i.e., BASICS or similar curriculum).
2. There is a $50 registration fee for all mandated students.
3. There are additional fees and consequences for failure to complete the program.

Third Offense

1. Students will participate in 8 individual or group therapy sessions (i.e., Alcohol Skills Training Program or similar curriculum).
2. There is a $75 registration fee for all mandated students.
3. There are additional fees and consequences for failure to complete the program.

Fourth Offense

1. Students will be placed on probation and participate in a a disciplinary hearing with the Dean of Students, Judicial Officer and other appropriate staff to outline the conditions of probation.
2. The Dean of Students is responsible for finalizing and approving the conditions of probation and determining the consequences for non-compliance.
3. If a student fails to comply with any of the conditions outlined in his or her probation, suspension or expulsion may occur.
