Pre-medical clinical observation program

We are proud to announce the new Pre-Med Scholars Clinical Observation Program with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine!

The UCCOM Pre-Medical Clinical Observation Program has been created for students in "partner programs" with UC, such as our new "XU Pre-Medical Scholars Program" who are looking for opportunities to observe physicians in their daily professional lives - seeing patients, performing procedures, and working with colleagues. Participation is meant to help connect students with physicians in a way that reduces uncertainty for everyone and will generate a positive experience for all involved.

You must be accepted into the "XU Pre-Med Scholars Program" to participate. Students can apply through the Director of Pre-Professional Health Advising to become "XU Pre-Med Scholars" if they have successfully completed at least one year of college (NOT ADVANCED STANDING) with a 3.0 or better cumulative and science GPA. Motivation for a medical career and maturity are also qualities of successful applicants to the XU Pre-Med Scholars Program. There is not a deadline to apply to the program; applications and letter of recommendation forms are accepted on a continuous and rolling basis. Once you are accepted into the "XU Pre-Medical Scholars Program," you will sign up for an orientation date at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine web site.

Each placement will last 24-40 hours and will be broken down into shifts of 2-12 hours in length. The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine will match your scheduling needs with the availability of PCOP physicians. For more information you can also visit UCCOM's web-site about the program.
