Ohio Arts Council

The Ohio Arts Council supports artists and organizations in a wide range of activities. Its grant programs are described in the Ohio Arts Council Guidelines. Funding for organizations includes support of projects in dance, design arts, literature, music and theatre. OAC funding for universities gives priority to projects that involve the community and receive matching support from outside of the university. Deadlines: vary.

Ohio Board of Regents

The Ohio Board of Regents administers the Improving Teacher Quality Program, which provides federal funds to colleges and universities in order to enhance professional development for elementary and secondary teachers of mathematics and science. Deadline: January.

Ohio Humanities Council

The Ohio Humanities Council offers grants to support humanities projects. The grants programs are described in the Ohio Humanities Council guidelines. Funding is awarded in three types of grants: major funding, regular funding, and minigrants with varying award amounts. Deadlines: vary.

Ohio Department of Education

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

The Ohio EPA's Office of Environmental Education administers the Ohio Environmental Education Fund, which is intended to increase public awareness and understanding about issues affecting the quality of the environment in Ohio. Projects that can be funded by the Fund include school and university curricula development, and training for teachers or educational programs for the public. The Environmental Education Fund has two programs:

  • General Grant Program. This supports environmental education projects. The projects can target pre-school through university, regulated community and general public audiences.
  • Mini Grant Program. This new program funds small projects for up to 12 months. The program funds specific classroom and workshop projects, conference speakers and other activities.
  • Deadlines: January 15 and July 15.

Ohio Department of Mental Health

Ohio Department of Mental Health research grants are administered through OPER, the Office of Program Evaluation and Research. No deadlines.
