Once a veteran is admitted to Xavier they must follow the steps below to ensure that the Veterans Administration Benefits will be processed.

1. Contact the Veterans Administration to obtain your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

The first step in the process is applying for your benefits through the Veterans Administration and requesting your COE. The COE provides you with important information regarding your benefits; namely the duration period you can access the benefits, the number of days that you are able to receive benefits and the type of program benefits.

2. Submit your Certificate of Eligibility to the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

In order for Xavier University to process your VA benefits, you will need to provide a copy of your COE.  Once you receive your COE please submit a copy of the form to the Office of Student Financial Assistance, Schott Hall.  We recommend that you a keep a copy for your records.

3. Submit the Enrollment Plans/VA Certification form to the Office of Student Financial Assistance for each term that you plan to use the benefits.

The Office of Student Financial Assistance will need to certify your enrollment with the Veterans Administration. We encourage you to submit the form as soon as possible to avoid delays in receiving benefits.

Once we have been notified that you want to use your benefits (via the enrollment plan/VA certification form) we share the information with the Veterans Administration. If there are changes in your enrollment, you are responsible for notifying a staff member in the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

After the Veterans Administration has received your certification of enrollment, you will receive an email indicating that your benefits are being processed. Please allow four (4) to six (6) weeks for processing by the Veterans Administration.

4. If you have any questions regarding your VA benefits, please feel free to contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
