Once a veteran is admitted to Xavier they must follow the steps below to ensure that the Veterans Administration Benefits will be processed.

1. Contact the Veterans Administration to obtain your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

The first step in the process is applying for your benefits through the Veterans Administration and requesting your COE. This can be done electronically through VONAPP.  The COE provides important information regarding your benefits; namely the duration period you can access the benefits, the number of days that you are able to receive benefits and the type of program benefits.

2. Submit your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to the Veterans Advisor, Brad Fittes.

In order for Xavier University to process your VA benefits, you will need to provide a copy of your COE.  Once you receive your COE please submit a copy of the form to the Brad Fittes, the Veterans Advisor.  Keep a copy for your records.

3. Submit the VA Education Benefits Enrollment form to the Veterans Advisor, Brad Fittes, for each term that you plan to use the benefits.

The Veterans Advisor will need to certify your enrollment with the Veterans Administration. We encourage you to submit the form as soon as possible, as soon as your schedule is set, to avoid delays in receiving benefits.

Once we have been notified that you want to use your benefits (via the VA Education Benefits Enrollment form) we share the information with the Veterans Administration. If there are changes in your enrollment, you are responsible for notifying the Veterans Advisor, Brad Fittes.

After the Veterans Administration has received your certification of enrollment, you will receive an email indicating that your benefits are being processed. Please allow four (4) to six (6) weeks for processing by the Veterans Administration.

4. If you have any questions regarding your VA benefits, please feel free to contact the Veterans Advisor, Brad Fittes.
