How to Apply and Eligibility
1. First, students must be accepted for admission. To find out more about admission visit, http://www.xavier.edu/admission.
2. Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. Students whose FAFSA is received at the federal processor by Feb. 15 will receive priority consideration. Consult our FAFSA tips page for help in completing this application. Visit the FAFSA web site for more information. Xavier University's school code number is 003144.
3. Within seven days of completing and submitting the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor. Review the information form for accuracy. If corrections need to be made, follow the instructions on the SAR or change your FAFSA information online.
If the SAR indicates the student's application has been selected for review in a process called verification, the student must submit to the office of financial aid signed copies of the federal tax returns and a completed verification worksheet. Visit our verification page for more information.
4. Once the office of financial aid has received the Institutional Student Aid Report, financial aid eligibility will be determined. A financial aid notification is then sent electronically to the student. The office of financial aid begins sending award notifications in February. Students should expect to receive their award notification approximately three weeks after being accepted into a degree program at Xavier and after the office of financial aid has the completed accurate results of the FAFSA.
If the student is eligible for a loan, he or she will receive a financial aid award notification.
