How do I file the FAFSA?
1. Register for a Federal PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. (Dependent students and a parent must both have a PIN.)
2. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the FAFSA on-line.
. Returning students should file a Renewal FAFSA.
. Dependent students are required to have both their signature and their parent's signature on the FAFSA. Sign the FAFSA using your Federal PIN.
. Include Xavier University's school code (003144) on the FAFSA.
3. Once the FAFSA is received by Xavier University (usually 7 days from when you file), we will generate a Financial Aid Award and send it to the email address listed on the FAFSA.

How do I apply for a Stafford loan?
1. Register for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
2. File the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
3. Receive your Financial aid award notification from Xavier's Office of Financial Aid.
4. For first time borrowers, complete the Stafford Load Entrance Interview and the Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note.

How do I apply for the Parent PLUS loan?
1. Parents should register for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
2. Determine your desired amount of the loan and loan period (for instance: semester or academic year).
3. Fill out the PLUS Loan Data Sheet and submit it to Xavier's Office of Financial Aid or call your Financial Aid counselor at 513 745-3142 and provide the information over the phone.
4. Complete the Parent PLUS Master Promissory Note.

How do I apply for alternative loans?
1. Review Xavier's recommended alternative loans programs.
2. Apply for a loan that suites your purposes.
3. Xavier's Office of Financial Aid will receive your request to certify the alternative loan.

How do I make an appointment with a Xavier Financial Aid Counselor?
Making an appointment is easy. Simply contact us at 513 745-3142 to schedule your appointment or visit our office on Xavier's campus in Schott Hall. We are located on the first floor. No appointment time is necessary for current and prospective students, so feel free to stop by.
