Maribeth Amyot

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Maribeth Amyot is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Xavier University. Ms. Amyot has executive responsibility for the university's financial affairs, facilities and construction, risk and safety management, and administrative services. In partnership with the President and the Provost, Ms. Amyot guides strategy development and execution for the university.

Ms. Amyot joined Xavier in May 2008 as Vice President for Financial Administration and CFO and was promoted to her current position in September 2011. She has over 25 years experience overall, including 20 years as CFO. She has served in senior financial and administrative positions with Western Connecticut State University, the University of Connecticut, and West Virginia University. In addition to the full range of financial and facilities functions, her prior work with these universities encompassed strategic planning, organizational governance, enrollment management, fundraising, human resources, and information technology.

Ms. Amyot currently serves on the financial panel of the Higher Learning Commission, the accrediting body that evaluates all degree granting colleges and universities in 19 states. She previously served as an evaluator for the accrediting body in New England. Ms. Amyot is a member of several professional organizations and is often called on for speaking engagements, including being the featured speaker at the regional Biz Women event and the Cincinnati Chapter of Financial Executives Institute.

Since moving to Cincinnati in 2008, Ms. Amyot has been active in the community. She is a Leadership Cincinnati program alumna (2011) and served on the Fine Arts Fund steering committee (2010). Ms. Amyot was awarded CFO of the Year for the large, not-for-profit category in 2010 and subsequently served as a CFO of the Year judge.

Ms. Amyot's education includes a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering and a master's degree in business administration, both from West Virginia University. She has three adult children, Gregory, Timothy, and Meredith.
