Professional Development
This year our goal was to learn about each other, share briefly about job responsibilities, and discover ways that we work collaboratively.  Table hosts were prepared to lead discussions and encourage participation from colleagues seated around the table.
Conversations were directed toward three main points, described below.  Anonymous responses were collected and summarized for review, resulting in the following observations:
NAME ONE THING THAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU THAT WORKS NOW OR WILL HELP US WORK WELL TOGETHER
Most often mentioned: communication, teamwork, technology
NAME SOMETHING THAT YOU FEEL SHOULD BE DONE DIFFERENTLY
Top five responses: better communication, more input from staff, performance review process, automation, policies and procedures.
FOR  YOU PERSONALLY, LIST ONE THING THAT YOU CAN CHANGE OR WILL CHANGE FOR THE BETTER
Overall themes: communication, educational opportunities, self-improvement, departmental improvements
SPECIFIC SUGGESTIONS FOR ACTION:
          Monthly divisional lunch

no agenda - get to know your colleagues - bring or buy your own lunch
          Training for working digitally
Clarify education policies and evaluate barriers
