If there's one thing about a Jesuit Catholic education, it's the concept that learning is always about more than a room, a desk and a book. There's a big, wide, wonderful world out there, and we encourage you to explore it— and maybe make one small corner of it a nicer place.
Xavier offers plenty of opportunities to serve communities around Cincinnati, as well as a renowned Alternative Breaks program, where students spend their school breaks helping others. But one of the longest and most impactful service experiences is the Academic Service Learning semester, which combines 12-15 credit hours of classes with community service, under the guidance of Xavier faculty. The semesters take place in Asia, Latin America and Africa, and in Cincinnati's Over the Rhine neighborhood.
