2007 Phil & Jeanne Busch Scholarships
Criteria and Application Process
Applications are now being accepted for the Phil and Jeanne Busch Scholarships. The required criteria are listed below. You are encouraged to use your creativity and innovation in presenting your material. Good luck!
Amount
Up to two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded.
Eligibility
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from either the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Social Sciences, who have a declared minor in entrepreneurship.
Criteria
This scholarship is not based on need, but on the characteristics listed below, with emphasis on entrepreneurial experience.
- A write-up, not to exceed 2 pages, which showcases your scholarship excellence, leadership qualities, and campus/community involvement
- Evidence of innovation and entrepreneurship as reflected in a 3-5 page business plan
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member
Process and Timing
Applications are due by Monday, February 26th, 2007 to Paula Flynn (513 745-2927, flynnp@xavier.edu) in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, 505 Schott Hall.
Winner(s) will be announced mid-March and recognized at the annual awards lunch on April 13th 2007.

The review committee will consist of the following:

- Three members of the entrepreneurship board of advisors
Assistance With Creating Business Plan
The XEC is offering a SCORES workshop on Saturday, February 17th, 2007. At this workshop, students will learn hw to create a business plan along with other useful information for starting your own business. The workshop is free for students.
