Entrepreneurship Scholarship Dinner

Begun by the Xavier entrepreneurial center in fall 2003, the entrepreneurship scholarship dinner extends our educational and networking opportunities to students and the local community. Building on the success of our Entrepreneurship lecture series, the dinner provides a forum for students and local business people to hear a prominent entrepreneur share his or her experiences. An important component of the dinner is that the entrepreneurial center uses the proceeds of the dinner to fund a scholarship for a Xavier entrepreneurship student.

The 2003 dinner featured John Bello, founder of SoBe (South Beach Beverage Company), a new-age beverage. Bello was the winner of the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He shared some of the strategies that allowed him to succeed in the highly competitive beverage industry. The dinner brought 300 students and business professionals together and raised $10,000 for scholarships for entrepreneurship students.
