Project Connect Visits Campus

On Tuesday, June 11, over 90 youth participating in Project Connect's Summer Camp spent the day on campus learning with student and staff volunteers and enjoying lunch on the Fenwick green space. Student campers 10-12 years of age participated in lab demonstrations led by six undergraduate science majors in Xavier's Robert Noyce Summer Internship Program and lab instructor Mary Stroud.  Younger campers were treated to an educational scavenger hunt on campus designed by Summer Service Interns Megan O'Donnell, Dominic Masotti and Community-Engaged Fellow Rachel Piepsny, and hosted by ten student volunteers.  The day, organized by the Eigel Center, celebrated a year of service learning and on-going collaboration between Xavier and Project Connect, a Cincinnati Public Schools' advocacy organization that helps meet the educational needs of children experiencing homelessness.  View a group photo from the day.
