  • The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and operation of a University-wide environmental health and safety program that is consistent with applicable University policy and procedure and all appropriate Federal, State and local regulatory requirements.
  • The primary focus is on compliance with regulations published by OSHA, EPA, and local fire and building codes.

Mission Statement

The mission of Environmental Health and Safety is to engage the campus community in providing a safe learning and working environment through managing risk, advocating safe work practices, providing quality educational programs, providing technical assistance to administration, faculty, staff and students regarding environmental and occupational health and safety, and assisting in compliance with University, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations such as those of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD), etc.
