Unified Communication (UComm)
The University is upgrading the current Xavier telephone system to the Cisco VoIP telephony system.  During the next three months Information Resources will deliver new Cisco desk phones to all campus offices and collect the old telephones.  The new Cisco phones will provide employees with new features and functionalities, enhancing communication across campus.

These enhancements include:

  • New phone capabilities: One-button features such as speed dialing and conferencing; a complete display of your incoming and outgoing phone activity; easy access to the University phone directory.
  • Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (CUPC): An instant messaging and availability tool that syncs with your Outlook calendar
  • Meeting Place Express: A web conferencing tool for sharing voice, video, and desktop presentations.

When will the new phones arrive in my area?

  • At least 2 weeks before your delivery date you will be contacted by a project team member to survey your current phone use and discuss your deployment date.

How can I learn more about the phone and additional features?
