Removing a USB Device

A memory stick or other USB device is considered another drive by the computer it is plugged into.
Here are the steps to remove the device properly.

  1. Look for the icon with a green arrow in the tray on the bottom right of your Windows desktop.

  2. Double-click on the icon.

  3. Choose the device plugged in.
    • Typically, this will be the only device in the list
    • A memory stick is listed as: USB Mass Storage Device.

  4. Press the STOP button.

  5. A second screen will popup. Choose the device again.

  6. Click okay.
