classroom capture for course related event

Classroom capture is used to document in-class activities or record specific course related events for use by students in a specific course. Requests normally fall into two categories, Level 1 or Level 2. In order to honor your request, please fill out the classroom capture form at least five business days prior to the class or course related capture event.

LEVEL 1

Level 1 Service: The DML Staff will:
  • Deliver and setup the video camera and tripod in the classroom
  • Pick up the camera & tripod when the class is over
  • Process the video, including:
    • Exporting the video
    • Posting to Canvas
    • Sending the capture to the faculty as a file
    • Converting to a DVD
  • With level 1 the DML staff will do little or no editing to the capture
   
Note: Faculty have the responsibility to start and end the recording on the camera.
   
Level 1 Cost: Free
   
Request Approval: We will make every effort to honor these requests.


LEVEL 2

Level 2 Service: The DML Staff will:
  • Provide a video camera, tripod, one microphone and one student camera operator
  • Setup the camera and microphone
  • Run the camera during classroom capture/course-related event
  • Provide basic editing (adding in PowerPoint slides and titles if available)
  • Process the video, including:
    • Exporting the video
    • Posting to Canvas
    • Sending the video as a file
    • Converting to a DVD
   
Level 2 Cost: Free of charge depending on timeframe of event and student worker availability. Charges may apply for specific requests if events occur outside of normal business hours or require added services or additional staff.
   
Request Approval: Approval depends on timeframe of capture or event and student worker availability.


SUBMIT A REQUEST:

Complete the Classroom Capture Request Form at least five business days prior to the class or event. A member of the Video & Digital Media Services Team will confirm your request by email or phone and ask any additional questions.
