Have you noticed that we are so often moving onto the next thing that we forget to enjoy what has just occurred?

I was reminded of this by my youngest son as we were finishing one cub scout project and planning for the next one. He just looked up at me and told me how much fun he had with the scout activity. I had forgotten in that moment to enjoy the time, so I hope you all can learn from my mistake.

How would you like it if you walked into the first day of your class and found out the Dean of your college was the professor?

Well that is happening a group of students this semester and so far so good. Great group of students who seem genuinely excited about the course of study. I am looking forward to the class and I am sure I will have some updates for you in the future, or at the very least the students in the course will!

I mentioned before the thoughts behind the end of the world coming in 2012 according to many. Now NASA has wade into the conversation and you can see their reaction, here

Does that article make you feel better or worse?

So it is 2012, and the world is going to end according to many people and one television network which is playing the disaster movie 2012 over and over all day today. Subtle or what?

I believe we should all remember to take a positive view at the start of the new year and bring that kind of spirit to whatever we do. If everyone looks positively on the world, wouldn't we all live in a better place?

I hope you and your famly have a healthy, happy, and blessed Christmas!

I am on the way to China to finalize details on an agreement for our Montessori program. It is frightening to see how empty the Cincinnati airport has become. I hope they can find a way to revitalize it.

I will try to give some updates about China while I am there.

Had a great conversation via Skype today with Mrs. Smith's class from Seven Oak in Oregon. It is good to know that the power of X is spreading to the west coast and we are growing the fans in the Xavier nation into new areas.

Thanks to the kids for all of the great questions, I am looking forward to the next session.

If you get a chance you should come by the Xavier Campus and see the new statue of our patron, St. Francis Xavier. It has been installed on the Rotary outside of our building and it is truly an amazing sight.

The campus has changed so much in the four years I have been here, I can only imagine what it must be like for those that have been here for decades.

Be sure to visit and see the new BMOC!

As we prepare for the mad rush  of the  shopping season, be sure to take some time to actually practice the spirit of thanksgiving and be thankful for what we have.

I know there are a number of people I need to thank that would be way too long of a list to make here so I will need to try to make sure each of them know how thankful I am.

I hope all of you can make some time to do the same.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Can you believe there are 7 Billion People in the world now? I do not know which is more frigthening the fact we have 7 Billion or that number of babies that are being crowned the 7th billion all over the world. On a side note I love when the baby is born close to midnight but they count it anyway, see this article for a reference.

Is this number something to fear? Is it something to ponder? I believe it is not the former, but definitely the latter. We need to make sure we are all a part of the coversation about our world. We are all impacted by it on a variety of levels. This is not something that we can check out of and say, "that doesn't concern me," because in today's world it is something that we all have in common.

So, in keeping with the theme of the day, I guess the important question to ask is the issue of the 7 billion people on earth at TRICK or a TREAT?
