We often see the comparison of international schools and ours here in the US. Here is one example from USA Today.  What I find interesting is the thought process of drop outs in Korea. Above and beyond programs, technology and other issues from schools, there is an issue with our attitude towards schools. Here is a quote from the story from a Korean High School Principal,

"A student may transfer to another school, but no one just drops out. … To drop out of school is a major disaster, a catastrophe. It wouldn't happen unless it was unavoidable."

Do you think the same attitude our found in all high schools in the USA? I certainly hope so, but I am not sure. There are a great number of children in our country who might leave a high school and no one would be upset. Sometimes, entire groups of children that people call, 'those kids.'  Is that the attitude we want to have as a country?
