Criminal Justice

The Master of Science in criminal justice program is designed for those persons who are interested in studying the theory and practice of criminal justice in law enforcement, courts and corrections. The program will lead you to an understanding of the dynamics of criminal and delinquent behavior, the nature and scope of the crime and delinquency complex in contemporary society, and the current efforts by the criminal justice system to address these issues.

All criminal justice faculty members have terminal degrees from top criminal justice/law schools. Among other things, faculty research focuses on comparative policing, homeland security, gun violence, attitudes toward police and issues surrounding women and crime. Faculty members serve as consultants to various local, state, federal and international agencies.

2 Lab Activities

Erected in 2005, the criminalistics lab houses the many exciting aspects of a criminalistics concentration. With lab activities that showcase blood spatter, chromatography and hair and fiber analysis, criminalistic students are instantly transported into a real-life crime scene investigation environment.
