MT5. A Look into Solving Chronic Homelessness SESSION CLOSED

Tour the Jimmy Heath House and hear about the partnerships, successes and outcomes that move people off the streets and into housing and supportive services. This project will bring back to life 5 vacant buildings that otherwise would go undeveloped. Its location next to the Elm St. Clinic and on the periphery of the residential area of the community makes it ideal. Community stakeholders including the Cincinnati Police Department: District One, Over-the-Rhine Community Council, developers, and 3CDC each support this project because of the positive impact it will have on the community. MT6. Historic Treasures Yield New Life SESSION CLOSED

Visit several historical, urban properties recently restored to significant economic purpose. See how the historic Vernon Manor Hotel (built in 1924 and closed in 2009) was retooled and converted into a $38 million office complex for its newest occupant: Cincinnati Children's Hospital all while building economic wealth and vitality for two Cincinnati neighborhoods and a group of minority investors. Hear how the partnership between the City of Cincinnati, Al Neyer, Inc. and co-owner (51%) Real Estate Enterprises for African American Leaders, LLC investors will impact 670 administration employees moving into The Offices at Vernon Manor in Cincinnati's Avondale Community.
