The Regional Neighborhood Network Conference (RNNC) is held annually during a 2-day gathering. Participants arrive on Thursday afternoon and depart on Saturday afternoon. All meals are included in the registration. In addition to workshop sessions, mobile tours and keynote presentations provide attendees with information on how to improve the quality of life of their neighborhoods. The Stella Stewart "Doing Good in the Neighborhood Award" is presented to a regional volunteer who exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism in honor of a long-time RNNC volunteer during the Keynote Luncheon.
The theme of the 2011 RNNC Conference is "Building Bridges & Making Connections: 25 Years of Connecting Neighbors to Neighborhoods." Bridges connect people in several senses: literally to connect places, metaphorically to connect people, institutions, amenities, and assets, and figuratively to connect those who build bridges to a brighter future. This 25th Anniversary of the RNNC promises to provide useful information on creating new partnerships and community building techniques to reach a new generation of grassroots leaders. |
