The Woman's City Club invites the community to start a conversation about steps we could take to make a difference locally about wage inequality and low wages. Groups will meet with experts to learn about the local situation (the extent of the problem and work underway) and choose some actions we might take – or a next step. All are welcome to the conversation! In cooperation with other community organizations.

Annual ALI Gathering with music and light meal, featuring biology scholar, Dr. Hamid Eghbalnia. Born in Iran, Dr. Eghbalnia will relate stories about his agrarian family and how folk ways and contemporary biology intersect. His extensive knowledge of the crossroads of health, the environment, and community will help inform sustainability strategies being pursued by ALI. Executive Director, Ginny Frazier, will be on hand to amplify how Dr Eghbalnia’s unique perspective supports ALI’s work.

Help us to decorate the neighborhood Christmas Tree. We will have the Male Chorus of the Gaines United Methodist Church performing and leading a sing-along. The Madisonville Youth Community Council will be providing cookies and hot chocolate. And we will have a mystery celebrity lighting our tree. The event is free and open to the public.
