Demography is the study of populations. It can be a very general science that can be applied to any kind of changing population. It encompasses the study of the size, structure and distribution of populations, and spatial changes in them in response to birth, death, migration, aging or other significant changes within a community. Demographic analysis can be applied to whole societies or to groups defined by criteria such as education, nationality, religion and ethnicity. The term demographics refers to selected population characteristics as used in government, marketing or opinion research, or demographic profiling.

CBI focuses on social demography to analyze the relationships between economic, social, and cultural processes influencing a population. We use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to pull physical planning and asset-based community development into sync and firmly believe in the participation of the public in the creation of new data for social capital development (Participatory GIS). CBI has certified planners and GIS professionals on staff to help you use and develop GIS-based projects. CBI is a member of the Cincinnati Area Geographic Information System (CAGIS) consortium for physical data and uses internationally known ESRI products.
