No materials are withdrawn from archives without the prior consent of the donating entity, if possible, and the approval of the Vice President for Library Services. In those cases where materials were accepted from a non-Xavier donor, restrictions placed upon the item at the time of acquisition will be honored. Any items sold will be sold at fair market value with the proceeds benefiting the Xavier University archives. No materials will be sold or otherwise acquired by an archives staff member or other Xavier employee.

Archival materials may be subject to disposal for serious reasons: deterioration of a collection, original formats converted to a longer lasting format, etc.
