Fall 2014 Dance Team Tryouts

Tryout Information

  • Date: September 4, 2014
  • Time: 8:00 PM
  • Location: O'Conner Sports Center Fitness Studio, Xavier University

All new and returning members must try out for the Xavier University Dance Team. Senior Team members will demonstrate recommended skills and teach a short dance consisting of a combination of pom, jazz, and hip-hop styles. Dancers will tryout in pairs and the new team will be announced by the end of the night. Please note that all who are interested are welcome to join the team regardless of how tryouts turn out; however, tryout results will determine who will perform on a regular basis, who is part of the performance team and who will be attending Nationals. Everyone on dance team must fundraise and pay dues, regardless of if you are on the performance team or not. Practices are not mandatory for those not on performance team, but attendance is highly suggested to improve skills.

Dancers joining the team will be asked to stay for a short informational meeting on the evening of tryouts.

Requirement

  • All dancers must be full-time undergraduate/graduate students at Xavier University

Xavier University Dance Team members should be prepared to practice Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00 PM.  Conditioning practice will be held on Fridays and some occasional practices might be held on Sunday throughout the season.
