Life After Sunday

Rosary

"Our entire perfection consists in being conformed, united, and consecrated to Jesus Christ.  Now, since Mary is of all creatures the one most conformed to Jesus Christ, it follows that among all devotions, that which most consecrates and conforms a soul to our Lord is devotion to Mary, His Holy Mother." —Pope John Paul II, Rosarium Virginis Mariae

Life After Sunday has a committed devotion to Christ through the Rosary, a characteristically Marian prayer.  The Rosary is not "Mary worship" as some may think, but rather, it is taking on the eyes of Mary to look more closely at her Son in order to become more like Him.

We invite you to come, relax, and contemplate the sacred mysteries of the life of Christ through the eyes of Mary.

Confession

"The whole power of the sacrament of Penance consists in restoring us to God's grace and joining us with Him in an intimate friendship."Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1468

Confession may sound like a scary thing, but is there anything better than a healing of our relationship with God and with our neighbor?  Jesus desires to bring this healing through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Jesus loves you to death, and will always love you.  He longs to offer you His Mercy and forgiveness.  All you must do is be humble and trust in His Mercy.

Bible Study

"Indeed, the Word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart."Hebrews 4:12

The study of Sacred Scripture is essential to the Christian life.  St. Jerome said, "Ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Christ."  By meditating on the Scriptures, particularly the Gospel, we enter into a deeper relationship with Christ.  It is this encounter with Christ through His Word that enables us to grow in our faith and strive for holiness.

Eucharistic Adoration

"In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Eucharist.  Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration.  It is a source of comfort and light." —Pope Benedict XVI, May 2006

Part of Life After Sunday's mission to support prayer at Xavier University involves sponsoring five hours of weekly Eucharistic Adoration.  There is no better expression of appreciation for the gift of the Eucharist than to set aside devoted quiet time in Christ's Presence.  By coming before Him week after week, we receive the grace and insight needed to live as true Christians.

Holy Power Hour

"The Eucharist is the source, center, and summit of the Christian life...for in the Blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ Himself, our Pasch."Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1324

Life After Sunday hosts Holy Power Hours which consists of an hour of Eucharistic Adoration, a Catholic form of prayer before the Most Blessed Sacrament, the Eucharist. The event includes a blend of contemporary praise and worship along with some traditional chant.

Holy Power Hour is an authentic, grassroots expression of our Catholic faith. Come join us as we dedicate one holy hour before the "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" (1 Tim 6:15), the "Bread of Life" (Jn 6:35), the One who is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (Jn 14:6).
