Xavier Interfaith Club

On Campus Support

Interfaith Prayer Space

The Interfaith Prayer Space was an initiative of the Student Government Association, in partnership with Campus Ministry and the help of Interfaith Club members. It is located in Husman Hall in the former location of the chapel. To access the space, enter Husman from the courtyard on the Cintas side of the building.

Office of Interfaith Community Engagement

Established in the fall of 2008, the Office of Interfaith Community Engagement works to create and strengthen a sense of community among individuals of diverse faiths on campus, in Cincinnati, and on the regional and national levels.

Brueggeman Center for Dialogue

The Edward B. Brueggeman center for dialogue at Xavier University is dedicated to providing space and opportunity for dialogue about the critical issues of our age. It is founded upon the belief that the paths that lead to solutions to our most serious problems will emerge out of dialogue.

The center originally focused on interfaith dialogue, the focus of the late Father Brueggeman, S.J. While the center's mission has expanded, interreligious dialogue and interfaith cooperation continue to be both its central integrating dimension and its distinguishing characteristic.

The Brueggeman Center has information on interreligious dialogue that can be found here.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry provides opportunities that help students respond to the invitation of St. Ignatius Loyola to find God in all things. Their office provides opportunities for worship and spiritual development for those of all faith traditions. Rooted in the Ignatian, Catholic tradition, their mission is to be companions with the members of the Xavier community on their journey of faith.

They strive to accomplish this mission through formation, pastoral care, worship, and empowering faith-filled leadership for the future.  In a spirit of hospitality and prayer we nurture and support people of all faiths so they may become more grounded in their tradition.

Information about Protestant, Jewish, Muslim and other local faith communities is available at their office.
They are located at Loyola House, a red brick house on Herald Avenue across from Husman Hall.

Peace and Justice Programs

Peace and Justice Programs aims to promote personal and social transformation. Through facilitating service, education and immersion experiences, they aim to actively engage the Xavier community in the lives of local, national and international communities. Their service programs combat the symptoms of marginalization (poverty, illness, etc.), while their corresponding educational processes seek to explain the political, economic and social structures that cause such phenomenon.

As the Interfaith Club seeks to expand community service efforts following the Interfaith Youth Core model of service-engaged interfaith cooperation, Peace and Justice Programs will remain an important partner.

Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity

The Vice Provost provides university-wide leadership to support the development and success of institutional diversity initiatives that advance the broader objectives of Xavier University's Catholic, Jesuit mission and its long-range strategic plan.
