  • Talk Title: All Work and No Play Makes Gaius an Invincible Killing-Machine: The Real Life of a Roman Miles

Jonathan Zarecki received his PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Florida in 2005. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Classics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His research interests are in Ciceronian philosophy and political theory, Roman historiography, and Roman warfare. He has published articles on Cicero and Horace, and is completing a manuscript titled Cicero's Ideal Statesman in Theory and Practice (under contract with Bristol Classical Press).
