Departmental Policies

Withdrawal from co-requisite laboratory courses

Laboratory Sections

Several courses are instructed as separately required lecture/laboratory combination sections. An example is CHEM160, CHEM161; General Chemistry I Lecture and Laboratory. Students are required to take the lecture section of the course along with (or before) they take the laboratory section. If a student elects to withdraw from the lecture section of the course before the university's defined final date of withdraw from classes, they must also withdraw from the laboratory course. Students will be allowed to continue in the laboratory section if they remain registered for and continue to attend the lecture section until the defined final date of withdraw from classes.

Lecture Sections

Students are allowed to remain in a lecture section of the course without being registered in the laboratory section.
