Academy of World Languages
We are a Cincinnati Public School in Evanston with a city-wide magnet program for foreign language. Our students generally begin school in Kindergarten, choose one of our 4 foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese Japanese and Russian), and take that language along with core standards through 8th grade. Of our almost 600 students, nearly 300 of them are part of our English as a Second Language program with students from over 40 different countries speaking as many languages at home. We are looking for support in our after school program, the Dragon Zone, for our newly started Kids Cafe Power Hour. The students receive a hot meal from Kids Cafe, a program of Feeding America, and then homework assistance and tutoring to fill the hour and then are pick up. Volunteers may help with food service from time to time but will always be engaged in homework help.

Good Samaritan Hospital
From greeting, guiding, and helping patients get to their place of treatment, to working alongside medical professionals in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre-surgical Services, and other clinical departments--volunteers are the glue that keeps GSH together. Volunteering is an awesome way to observe, connect, and build a resume, while giving your time. As little as two hours a week makes a huge difference. This is a great option for those students thinking about careers with a health care environment.
Volunteers set their own schedule and we work to place them in an area that offers them a positive experience and meets their desires.
