Richard Mullins to join Chemistry Department Faculty in Fall of 2004.
Primary Teaching Responsibilities in the Area of Organic Chemistry
Richard Mullins has accepted a position as Assistant Professor at Xavier University. He will join the chemistry department in the Fall of 2004. Richard Mullins received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He has worked as an NSF-REU Fellow at the University of Michigan and will soon receive his Ph.D. from Indiana University. His graduate work was performed under the mentorship of David Williams. Richard Mullins research efforts are devoted to incorporating new synthetic methodologies into the synthesis of biological compounds having multiple stereocenters. He has taught a number of courses pertaining to organic chemistry and served as a faculty member at Ivy Tech State College. He is a very active member of the American Chemical Society and has served as Chair of the Southern Indiana Section.
