Internships

How do I find an internship?

Check with your faculty or academic advisor. Depending on your major, an internship/co-op may be a required part of your academic studies. Even when not required, some departments will offer academic credit for related internship experience.

Top 5 Reasons to do an internship

1.   Develop professional skills necessary for success in the workforce.

2.   "Try out" jobs related to your major or field of study.

3.   Apply what you are learning in the classroom in a real world setting.

4.   Earn money and/or academic credit.

5.   Become more marketable for your future career - research shows that students with more work-related experience were employed more quickly, were more likely to be employed in their field of study, and were more satisfied with their positions.

Internships can be paid or unpaid, for academic credit or not, full or part time, during the academic semesters or during the summer.
