Where did you hear about this professional opportunity, and what do you think contributed to being hired? I was informed of this opportunity though one of my political science professors. I reached out to them, and it turns out the recruiter was a Xavier graduate, which helped me out. Our professional correspondence and my interview along with a few courses I’ve taken helped me get this position.
How did Xavier Career Services help you along the way to achieve this accomplishment? Rick helped me a lot with my cover letter and resume. He helped me update my experiences on my resume and make the formatting more professional and reader friendly. I have never written a cover letter, so he really helped me with that.
Based on your own experiences, what advice do you have for students as they gear up for their job/internship search? Talk to your professors about opportunities and use Career Services for all their resources – they’re all very friendly and eager to help.
