 Mentor Survey Quick Points

·         42% of mentors became a mentor through the Women of Excellence.

·         87% of mentors said they understood their responsibilities, as well as the goals and objectives of the program.

·         The most common form of communication with their student was via email (58%), while in-person contact (19%), phone (14%), and Text Messaging (8%) made up other communication streams.

·         Mentors spent most of the time talking about employment and career path with students (50%), while personal concerns (38%) and academic issues (32%) were also discussed.

·         76% of respondents indicated that the mentoring program was as beneficial and rewarding as they expected.

·         66% of mentors gave the program an A or B grade.

·         73% of respondents said they would recommend the program to others.

Mentee Survey Quick Points

·         Students contacted their mentor most often by email (87%), but also followed up in-person (9%) and by phone (4%).

·         Most of the time, students talked with their mentor about career path and personal issues (tied at 44%) as well as employment and academic concerns (also tied at 38%).

·         Overall, students said the program was as beneficial to them, saying it was “what they expected” (50%), “more than what they expected (25%), or “much more than expected” (17%).

·         86% of the students graded the program with an A or B.

·         96% of respondents said they would recommend the mentoring program to other students.
