Request Stimulus Funds to Employ Federal Work Study (FWS) Awarded Students

The Federal Government has awarded Stimulus Funds for Xavier University's Federal Work Study Program (FWS) for FY '10.  In order to distribute the use of this one-time allotment of funds, departments hoping to hire FWS students for the remaining portion of the academic year are encouraged to complete the application. 

The priority date for submission is November 4, 2009.  Requests will be accepted and approved until the Federal Stimulus Funds are exhausted.  Departments requesting funds should know that the additional funds distributed must be used by May 2010. 

Representatives from the Office of Financial Aid and the Career Services Center will serve as the approval and distribution points for these one-time only funds and will fairly and consistently consider each department or unit request based on number of student employment hours requested, number of of FWS students to be employed, and date of submitted request. 

Departments submitting requests will be provided with additional information upon approval.

Stimulus funds may only be used to hire/work students awarded Federal Work Study (FWS).
