About Us

The Career Services Center was established in the summer of 2006 after the restructuring of career development at Xavier University.  Under the new Provost's model, career development officially became a member of the Academic Affairs division and two career offices were created:  the Career Services Center (CSC) and what is now called the Williams College of Business Professional Development Center (WCBPDC).

The Career Services Center serves as the central career office for the University including employer relations/development, on-campus recruiting, career exploration, and employment for students awarded Federal Work Study while providing targeted services to students (grad and undergrad) and alumni in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Social Sciences, Health, & Education.  Moreover, the staff in the CSC work directly with the numerous academic departments in these colleges so that each student has an assigned career advisor.

The Williams Colleges of Business Professional Development Center provides targeted career assistance to undergraduate and MBA students and alumni in the Williams College of Business.  The Business Profession Program is the cornerstone of career preparation for undergraduate students in the Williams College of Business. The Business Profession Program is designed to provide a structured way in which students can gain knowledge, skills and networking contacts to complement their education and to educate them on the fundamentals of the working world.

Both the CSC and WCBPDC offer mentoring programs designed to connect students with experienced professionals from all job sectors over a prolonged period of time. 

The CSC moved office locations in January 2011 to the newly constructed Conaton Learning Commons.  This move joined the Career Services Center to the Center for Student Excellence. The creation of this Center, and the grouping of academic academic student services offices, fulfills the vision of Father Michael Graham, President of Xavier University.
