Based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow, this powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America is still relevant today. Ragtime intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families, as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.

Plays, by their very nature, can be considered theater of conscience as they serve to make us more aware of our human condition. Xavier Players strives to combine real-life experience in the form of meaningful service that relates to the issues presented in the plays. We believe it is in this act of service that one truly becomes socially aware.
