Nathan Quinn of Cincinnati (45231), a Miami University Cadet with the Xavier University Army Reserve Officer Training Corps “All for One” Battalion, will attend the U.S. Military Academy Battle Command Conference (BCC) at West Point, N.Y. from Apr. 24 – 26.
At BCC, Cadets learn from battle-seasoned mentors the challenges of serving with and leading soldiers of all ranks. They conduct an inventory of their Character, Competence, and Leadership to develop a balance of these critical traits. Mentors and Cadets participate in a Leader-to-Leader (L2L) high energy, facilitated conversation, through small groups using various combat scenarios experienced by leaders in Afghanistan.
"I am honored to be given the privilege to represent the 'All For One Battalion' at the West Point Battle Command Conference. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from the various leaders present as well as the Cadets from West Point and other ROTC units from around the country. Quinn said. “It is a chance to further develop myself professionally, and increase both my peers' and my own wealth of knowledge, in order to better prepare ourselves for our futures as leaders in the US Army."
Quinn achieved an Overall Excellent Rating in the Leadership Development Assessment Course at Ft. Lewis last summer. A senior mass communications major at Miami University, he will be commissioned in August as a second lieutenant and has requested Infantry as his branch.
